Dean Hooper

Dean Hooper, founder and principal consultant, has over 18 years of software (stand-alone and embedded) and hardware design experience; from small hand held devices to large robotic surgical systems. He is recognized within the industry as wearing more than a single expert hat. His experience working with product development and regulatory affairs organizations ensures his clients “get credit” for the human factors work he provides for the design teams. In other words, he simultaneously has an eye on building a safe and easy to use product that optimizes market acceptance while satisfying human factors guidance and directives for FDA submissions and IEC compliance.

Dean’s CV

"Dean's work in identifying and classifying use errors and use related hazards for user-device interactions is in line with the FDA's Human Factors guidance and pre-market clearance requirements. This places him in a special category of usability consultants in the device field, as this knowledge is relatively rare across the industry's field of consultants. I would highly recommend Dean's expertise in analysis and testing phases of device development leading to FDA approval."
